This summer there really has not been a movie apt for children, if you do not count Madagascar (I am waiting for HBO for that one) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (RATED PG) is the movie we have all been waiting for. This movie is faithful to the book from what I remember. I am a fan of the 1971 classic, thought Gene Wilder was great and the Umpa Lumpas were pretty cool. Johnny Depp does a fine job filling Gene’s shoes in this Tim Burton reimagination (BETTER THAN Planet of the Apes). I was not a fan of the new Umpa Lumpa songs but overall, this movie was pretty good. I recommend it.
