This change is not as egregious as Reebok’s new jerseys

Another old tradition in the NHL was put to sleep. Since they have all those guys in Toronto to review the close calls from numerous angles, the goal judges had become redundant. I don’t buy the money argument entirely because the best seats in my opinion, and from other hockey experts, are in the corners. Sure, you can see the goals made up close yet there’s more action going on other than scoring. More of the impressive hits and puck work takes place in the corners, the blue lines and off the circles. However, goal judges will remain in the lower-level leagues such as the AHL, ECHL and CHL due to their miniscule budgets.
