FINALLY! The IRS directly deposited our Economic Hail Mary on Thursday evening. It came as a surprise because their site claimed it would be sent by mail. Personally, I know the $1200 won’t do squat to rejuvenate the economy but just like last time, we’re still in a Recession as another Bush presidency comes to a close.
Originally we were supposed to receive it after the first week of July according to my social security number. Instead a got a letter from the IRS saying they lost my Schedule A. Exactly how this happened, since all the paperwork is bundled together, was beyond me. They cashed my cheek without fail though! So I called the number, got a human being from the US instead of Bangalore but still no explanation other than, oops! Trying telling them that when you owe, they’re not so patient.
What irritates me the most over their tardiness is their eventual timing. Why couldn’t they have done this before or after my time in Vegas? It would’ve been great before to tackle the bills, namely in the aftermath of Somara’s surgery. Good thing we’re both more disciplined spenders. I think many Americans would take it as an omen to “increase” their $1200 via the Strip.
