Another co-worker became a first-time father and boy did he show his dedication, no waiting, have two at once! Not really, the odds of twins are relatively more common than you think plus their occurrence has risen through numerous good and bad factors. I was mistaken on which type are more common, I always thought it was identical but it’s fraternal (by a factor of two-to-one). Why fraternal? Well, fraternal twins originate from entirely separate egg cells versus splitting (natural cloning) and humans don’t have a strong record in the mammal kingdom for succeeded at multiple births.
I look forward to meeting them. I will have to resist the temptation to call them Phil and Lil, I bet all you children of the Nineties know who I’m referencing.
