RIP: Marvin Hamlisch

Marvin was often a boring, somewhat self-centered guest on most shows I had seen but he did compose some of the best, memorable tunes, namely my personal fave, “Nobody Does It Better (The Spy Who Loved Me).” Until Duran Duran’s “A View to a Kill,” Marvin and Carole Bayer Sager wrote the highest ranking Bond tune, number two; an honor they shared with Paul McCartney.
