The new schedule for the NHL was released today and sadly, there will be no Dallas Stars v. Philadelphia Flyers match up this year, only me versus Jeremy Derr through my PS2.
Not to lose all hope. I still can get the NHL Center Ice package through Dish when we re-hook that up. However, I still have my wish to see the Flyers in person after what a thrill it was to meet Jeremy Roenick in person and actually see how large Keith Primeau and John LeClair are with their skates on.
I reviewed the schedules for Dallas to see if they were playing anyone interesting this season outside their conference. Not really. Philly gave me more hope. They will be in Chicago around the middle of January so I can hound my brother for that time. I think it could be a fair trade. I pay for the tickets and freeze my behind off, he can let me stay at his place to entertain the kids even though they’ll be in school most of the day. Then there’s the more attractive and easier package; go to Orlando, crash at Hoser’s new house and drive to Tampa since they play those guys at least two times a season anyway. Be there for a little payback over them robbing us of our first Stanley Cup in 29 years and my $75 I would’ve won from the Venetian from my betting slip.
Stay tuned, Southwest Airlines does fly to Philly too so I could make a week of it there and soak up the whole experience, as they would say, “you know what I’m sayin’?”
