I just scored my first new iPod in five years. Before the Touch, I used to upgrade every year because I never had any trouble selling the used one to a friend who couldn’t afford the new, full-price models. When Somara bought the first version of the Touch, she had it engraved so I didn’t want to part with such a personal gift. Thanks to my exercise routine, the old Touch (aka Buster Bunny/KMAG V) has been getting more usage. However the latest iteration had enough changes, upgrades and features to entice me. Plus I was allowed to borrow a black model during the Thanksgiving break to make sure I’d like it, short answer, yes.
Apple’s new online ability to set up delivery at a local retail store made this even more satisfying. Who doesn’t like near-instant gratification? Maybe Buddhists. I’m not one so I wouldn’t know, I just know I dig this. Its storage capacity is four times what my previous iPod, thus I can stuff it full of those podcasts I’m falling behind on…there’s a show I can pitch to a cable network, electronic hoarders! The camera is pretty sweet as well. This device will be my “film” camera of choice whenever I plan to get raw footage, probably cats and kittens doing their cute things.
The new earbuds are a relief. They don’t hurt after a couple hours which makes it easier to fall asleep with them left in. I tend to put myself to sleep by putting Stuff You Missed in History Class at a low volume.
Next up, seeing what my protection options are at Ghost Armor in Barton Creek Mall. Probably some cool 360 pictures and HD movies from it.
