I forgot to mention that their big sister Nefertiti was taken in to AHS last week. The poor girl cried and panted during most of the journey. We decided it was for the best, Neffie got pregnant several weeks ago, then had a miscarriage on our porch…gross!
Meanwhile, Somara scored an animal cage at a garage sale for $20. It needed some work, namely removing the cat piss smell. Over the next couple days we lured Balder, Weth, Freya and Mama (Princess Buttercup) with food, grabbed them and put them in the cage for safe keeping. Balder was the easiest, he secretly enjoys some human contact. Weth was too hungry to think but put up a nasty fight until I used the cat version of the Vulcan nerve pinch to pacify her. Freya required the two of us since someone needed to cut off the kittens’ favorite escape route under the fence. Their mother is friendly, she was the least effort. Their suspected father will have to wait.
The plan over this upcoming weekend will entail taking Weth and Freya to AHS. My mother-in-law is interested in adopting Balder due to Caliban nearing the end of his life. I’m not sure if he’s up for domesticity this soon. Princess will be fixed soon at White Rock Veterinary Hospital. Afterwards, she will be free to roam as she always has.
