With the one-million-word milestone appearing in my virtual rearview mirror, I’m gradually changing up the Picayune‘s categories first. The initial names or classifications were often an afterthought when I first rolled out this site around 2005. Some don’t really hold up anymore like “DVDs,” were too general like “Science,” or should be subcategories, namely “Apple” which belongs under “History” in a few instances while the newer (and improved) “Science & Technology” banner.
I’m open to suggestions too. Especially with how to cover movies currently in theaters alongside their elder cousins distributed through DVDs, streaming and traditional cable. With the “elderly,” I don’t think the means matter yet there is a discerning factor about their TV-based nature. “Retrospectives” I catch through Alamo Drafthouse, the Paramount (Austin’s historical theater) and others (maybe Regal’s Arbor 8 and the downtown Violet Crown) will be easy: Quote-alongs, Summer of 1982/1983, 70mm Edition and Digitally Restored.
Feel free to complain or compliment as well.
