I’m grateful Converse went with the Aughts’ cartoon version since their new show is mediocre. The Titans’ 1980 incarnation with the Perez art would’ve better, but these were on sale, I couldn’t resist.
They followed the Batman tradition by putting the Titans’ enemies on the other side, a rather streamlined version of the Fearsome Five with Slade (aka Deathstroke) as the leader. Next time, the Mad Mod please!
Since the Teen Titans are led by the first superhero I really identified with and liked as a kid, Robin (aka Dick Grayson, not the wannabes who followed); and the The New Teen Titans comic book by Marv Wolfman and George Perez gave Uncanny X-Men a good run for the money in the early Eighties, these shoes kick off this remodeling segment.
