I’ve never regretted buying a house much. Actually, as the years go by any feelings of regret fade away quickly. Rent around Austin is getting jacked thanks to us becoming the 11th largest city in the US. With our recent refinancing knocking down the mortgage payment to under $700/month makes it even better. Try renting anything in our vicinity for that kind of money. At best, a studio apartment in Georgetown.
The weirder landmark this signifies is how long I’ve lived at one address. Even my parents have never owned a house for more than a few years due to moving or lately with North Carolina, selling off the previous one they remodeled. It is an alien feeling some days but I’ll take it after the heartbreak my gypsy years were, aka the Seventies and Eighties.
Let’s see what 13 years brings!
