Herb Brooks would’ve been proud since the Spurs took the smarter route on building a team that worked together, getting their re-match against the superstar model, depriving of them its three-peat. While the Heat relied heavily on James, Wade and Bosh to carry the Heat through, the Spurs developed the whole bench so when Ginobili, Duncan and Parker need to rest, the team can continue to kick ass.
I sense an upcoming trend that should bear out for my Stars. Think about it.
- LA Kings win Friday, they’re silver and black, 4-1.
- Spurs win Sunday, they’re silver and black, 4-1.
- Stars are up 2-1 but there’s only a two-letter difference between the words and they’re both Central Texas teams.
I’m just being silly. There’s no conspiracy or correlation. It’s just nice to see the two non-douchebag teams winning in two major sports. Well, the Kings are partially because of their city’s reputation as a shallow place as Bill Hicks used to call it.
