With the return of the Eberron Campaign (a pseudo Steampunk world) to D&D comes the awesome minis to flesh out that world! I do have the core book explaining it but regardless, I had to have this sky boat. Being a fan of Michael Moorcock and the cult fave Space 1889, I thought it would be fun to have players travel on such a contraption. How does it work? Any method imagination can make it function! In Space 1889 ships could fly via special trees which produced lift wood. I’m going with an unintelligent (or low-level) air elemental being bound to the ship by a powerful druid or genie. To be nice to the creature, I’ll say this is the elemental’s punishment for a number of years, then the ship’s captain has to set it free. I’m not sure what an air elemental would want in payment because they don’t have the same needs as us, they’re pure air.
The mini onboard is Monsieur Flaneur, the current owner of the vessel. He loves to travel around the world(s). My friend and fellow DM Mark B will probably piece together an inter-campaign story for this cool looking dude. Maybe even give his vessel its rightful name. Once again, the analog world triumphs over the online game!
