The article is impressive in how ambitious CapMetro’s plan is. It took over 30 years to get the limited Red Line (relatively) near my house. With some luck and taxpayers cooperating, I may see one of these other colored lines before I die. The one we need the most is from the airport to downtown but I would also say lines going through neighborhoods where people lack cars is more urgent. I didn’t own a car for two years when I first arrived in Austin. Trust me, if you don’t have a car in any city in Texas, you’re a third class citizen. I’m raising a Shiner Bock to this having one other line operational by 2030 since I probably won’t be driving much longer.
