Although it’s not my first time dog sitting for this adorable little puppy, Teak! I had to jump in to make sure she’s good while my friend Marian split for Thanksgiving to see her parents, you know, the usual holiday ritual. She’s full of so much energy and enthusiasm, if Peter Thiel, the Fascist Vampire, is looking for a cure to immortality, maybe he should look into what dogs’ secret is. He should NOT, NOT, NOT! be experimenting on dogs. I may be a cat person and not always thrilled to interact with man’s best friend, I am against any unnecessary cruelty to them.
Teak is a very a sweet little girl, I think she’s her adult size. She loves everybody and I’m glad, many dogs smell my apprehension and interpret it as fear, then comes my panic about being bitten…again. Marian trained her pretty well, Teak understands basic commands, especially when its time to report to the crate. You’d think this would be the last thing any dog would want. I have to remember dog toe nails smart too. They’re blunt unlike my cats sharp, super painful ones, yet a dog’s smart in a different manner. How I wish there were a command word to tell dogs to relax and find a way to retract their nails when you’re hugging them.
I hope to take her on a walk during this stretch. The forecast said one of these days will be pleasant despite all the thunderstorms we’ve been having over the holiday stretch. I haven’t done this for years, I hope succeed to Teak’s satisfaction. Walks are important to our canine allies. I have a suspicion it’s one of the things they live for.
