I love this bumper sticker because it ties in with a recent news story I heard on NPR (which it NOT STATE MEDIA) about a state legislator in Nebraska fighting for LGBTQ+ rights via a filibuster. She made a huge point by saying (I paraphrase), Transgender and Gay people have lived amongst us for decades (even centuries), why are the Republicans now wasting everyone’s time making laws to hurt them? I completely agree. This is how it began in Weimar-Era Germany, the best documented (in my experience) History in how a rather newly open, somewhat diverse society got hijacked by the Nazis.
One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in Vegas was a little girl with her parents meeting a drag performer at Harrah’s while I was waiting for Somara. That little girl had the same look of joy and astonishment on par with what I’ve seen before when kids meet a Disney Princess or the Yo Gabba Gabba! crew. There’s no way in Hell the little girl was thinking, now I’m going to grow up to be a Communist or I’m going to get surgery to turn into a man for the fun of it or whatever other bullshit the GOP claims. She was around four or five, having a good time and eating candy is most likely the first and foremost thing on her brain at this age. Now if she got older and became a Communist, Libertarian, Lesbian and/or a Transgender Dude, there was much more too it than being introduced to a drag queen in Las Vegas.
I’m living proof of how dead wrong Meatball Ron is too. I’ve read much of the Bible and it certainly didn’t turn me into a hateful Christian as per his base.
