To prove my baseball nuttiness though, I have to point out that the stereotype of the DH is completely out of sorts these days. Most teams use it to give their regular position players a day off in the field while keeping them in the lineup and getting their bench players into the game more often; I don’t know about 2009, but in 2008, only 2 of 14 AL teams had a full time DH!
