Felix da Cake

Somara made this for her co-workers. Something to do with her job is about all I know and what do I care, I get to eat the scraps! I like the touch of Felix’s trademark bag being present. When I was a little kid, I think Channel 44 (Chicago via cable) showed cartoons of Felix fending off an evil professor and his upright-walking, clothes-wearing dog co-hort from stealing said bag of tricks.

The “da” in the title of my entry comes from an Electronica artist who guys by the name Felix da Housecat.

I was just reading a review of a DVD of old Looney Toons that’s just been released, and the reviewer was talking about whether your favorite character changes as you mature. Like maybe you were all about Bugs as a child because he’s cheeky, but as an adult, you realize the futility of life as exhibited by Daffy. Any truth to that?

I’m one comment down on what I owe you! 🙂

I think so. Sometimes as a kid, I thought Bugs was a jerk on how he treated Daffy. Now Bugs is my “totem” in this bewildering world filled with distractions and jackholes.

Oddly, I find the reviewer’s comment more true about Star Trek. As a kid, Spock was all cool but as an adult, I find Dr. McCoy to be my favorite because he speaks his mind, often it’s funny despite it being a plot device for the audience. Kiwi actor Karl Urban definitely had the character down. Too bad he was the only good part while J J Abrams crapped all over the rest.
