Belated congrats to the Griffins!

Finally, for at least the first time in four season, a Western Conference team has won the Calder Cup! I would’ve preferred it to be my Stars but I am willing to settle for Detroit’s proxy because it wasn’t OKC or Tampa’s proxy.

Gotta’ state some good news after the Miami Douches won last evening.

Now that the AHL’s season is over, the shuffle can begin. Poor Peoria got bumped out again as Vancouver decided to form a new team in Utica, NY. Makes you wonder why there when there were rumors saying the Canucks wanted their farm team to be closer. They couldn’t get Calgary to budge on Abbotsford because the Flames’ financial losses are passed on to the taxpayers. Next stop, Seattle which could accommodate the WHL’s Thunderbirds and an AHL franchise; Calgary and Edmonton do this with NHL teams. Nope! There’s talk of the Phoenix Coyotes moving to the Emerald City should the latest round of arm twisting falls through with the beleaguered residents of Glendale, AZ. So given those options why not move the next best place…New York state. Pure genius.

Given Utica’s notoriety, the jokes about their venue serving steamed hams has begun.
