Rainy days, recovering temperature and malaise

We got through our first cold snap(s) for Winter ’14 to ’15 and it still sucked compared to the regions accustomed to this crap. What I thought I had licked re-appeared Sunday night, knocked me down for a couple days. I recovered enough to make the annual pot luck and participate in some follow-up training I really wanted. I began to slide again on Thursday with sleep being the only key remedy.

Now I’m probably at 80 percent or better. My eyes aren’t as red and painful, the factor initiating this bout of malaise. I know the “plenty of fluids” tactic tends to work but I hate having to whiz every 20 minutes, its side effect. There must be a compromise device between an catheter and adult diapers to address this. Oh, you might say I’m being lazy. Do you enjoy having to start over on making yourself warm/comfortable again in your bed? Or better yet, the cozy sweet spot you established on the couch while enjoying Sick Day Theater (aka, clearing out your queue on Netflix)?

Onward to the doldrums of American productivity or what they we used to call the no-breakup period in school: Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day, the former ends around New Year’s Day. We in Austin will be living it up through the next weekend. The forecast says we should have weather in the mid to upper sixties (F)! Suck it again Midwest. You voted for the same asshole party to be governors which means you’ll just get their disastrous policies, not the better climate. Give it another generation via Climate Change, then you’ll have the blistering heat in November we sometimes get.

Picayune will also be offline around Thanksgiving for maintenance.
