My bigger plans to have the stats for the entire 727 Jump Brigade fell through via my procrastinating, parties and poor time-management skills. I did manage to make it to the Lego Store to get the annual Star Wars boon, this year it was Admiral Yularen. Being the big nerd I am I should’ve recognized the name, he’s only the key fleet officer in the Clone Wars series voiced by Tom Kane.
I had always wondered what became of him since we all know where Captain Tarkin was headed. Maybe he was killed in action near the end of the wars or he retired. Wrong on both counts. However, his fate may be in transition. Originally Yularen was retrofitted as this guy below in the exciting Death Star argument scene between Tarkin, Darth Vader, Admiral Motti and General Tagge.
Transition? When Disney took over, we all know they nullified all the stories written before the acquisition. Rumor has it the ol’ admiral remained faithful to the Old Republic and was a Rebel sympathizer, feeding intelligence whenever he could. Eventually he defected to the Rebel Alliance like General Madine did. This may play out in the current Rebels cartoon. We’ll see.
Other than that, it was pretty cool to see the latest The Force Awakens trailer in 3-D before the Avengers movie got rolling.
