For starters, if anyone has been following the site and ended up feeling disappointed, I apologize. Same goes for those wondering why their RSS readers continued to show nothing new.
I’m going to use the new month of December and the close of the current decade (The Teens!) as an opportunity to close the gap, stay on top because…
…that’s correct, as Mandy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy stated, the divorce is over but I’m waiting for the ink on the decree to dry.
I’m not out of the woods yet, there’s the refinancing of the house to get Somara off the mortgage along with giving her cash to equalize matters (90-day deadline, it’s in motion with phone tag). Texas doesn’t have alimony which is a blessing and a curse. A blessing for husbands who often are the breadwinners for they only have to cut things in half and walk away, they don’t have to subsidize their ex-wives until they re-marry or worse, the ex-wife has a permanent boyfriend. It’s a curse for wives when there isn’t much to split, so it’s a double whammy to the poor. Child support exists yet I’ve heard it’s relatively easy to dodge which is not a surprise in this Banana Republic, home to another failure of Kapitalism’s self-regulation if you heard about the latest chemical plant explosion.
Besides this being the fastest divorce in my circle of friends and relatives, like Miley Cyrus/Cher speed, Somara and I will remain in touch and friends. I remain concerned about her health and well being. I’m not a complete SOB. Our marriage came to an end mainly due to us drifting apart. It wasn’t an acrimonious, knock-down, zero-sum-gain war as the majority of divorces turn into while the poor kids are pawns. We both wanted to get it over with and start rebuilding. What it will entail for Somara, probably a new house in which I’m helping her pay for. Not an angry comment, just a fact and as I said after my car Vixen was totaled, it’s only money. Me? I’m going to be spending time in 2020 getting my 18-year-old house into better shape plus you’ll see more surprises.
Lastly, the site will have a high number of stories on the home page as I fill in the gaps of the past with entries I had to table to focus on living, working overtime and/or prepping for the divorce.
