Now I know why June is Pride Month! On this day 45 years ago, the well-known flag with all the cool, bright colors was selected to represent Gay Rights. Over the years it has been expanded to encompass others but nowadays Transgender Citizens have a different one. Of course, I’m likely to be wrong about the Gay flag being an umbrella and other groups developing their own. It doesn’t matter. It’s nice that everybody who wants one has a flag. They’re pretty cool, especially when they have bitchin’ designs. Mexico for example, they have an eagle choking a snake!
The only thing stupid about flags. Dying for them. They’re just symbols and nobody’s is better than anyone else’s. We can agree on a few being offensive, namely the Nazis and anything representing a racist supremacy group. The point is, the ideas or principles are what we should defend and risk our lives for. A flag may embody or represent said things but the important stuff isn’t lost if someone of any political alignment sets it on fire. Trust me, flag burning isn’t a form of voodoo. Iran alone has destroyed probably thousands since 1979 and America remains the same.
