I’m late to the party on mocking the GOP dipshits, especially Meatball Ron, for attacking what they think is ‘woke’ or ‘socialist’ culture. The headline says I don’t know the meaning but I’m really saying, the literal one. In the context of the angry Ammosexuals, MAGAts and the willfully ignorant GOP base, it has two connotations.
The first. Woke is anything they hate and/or are pissed off about. Their team choked in the championship. Woke referees is absolutely why! The McRib is gone. McDonald’s bowed to woke pressure! Tim Allen’s awful, unfunny show on ABC/Fox was cancelled…twice! The networks and advertisers gave into all those woke complainers! Shitty ratings had nothing to do with it.
The second. Here you can make their head explode over. Woke means mercy, compassion, acceptance, kindness, defending, etc. to those who have traditionally been bullied by the mainstream. I have been guilty of doing this too and being an imperfect person I will likely continue doing this. However, at my age and mindset, it will NOT be on purpose as I did in my callous youth.
This dovetails into something a Nebraska legislator has brought up in her attempts to fight all the mean-ass laws being pushed against the transgender (or is it transgendered? I’ll get back to you on that). The same regarding drag shows. Transgender Americans have lived amongst us for decades and centuries. Why do these assholes have a knot in their undies about them now? My grandma used to bust out laughing to Milton Berle or Tim Conway in drag; nobody accused them of corrupting the youth.
It all boils down to this. The Republicans have no idea how to govern and can only recycle their tired and failed policies. This should be a slam-dunk for the Democrats but hey, this is the party who specializes in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It’s time for both organizations to be eliminated.
