I took a couple days “off” from the site to de-stress. The results were mixed. Success: got through my third-attempt interview for Support Engineer. Will I land the gig? I have no idea. The odds haven’t been better thanks to four openings though. What I lack in tech, I have in customer skills. The other good part: comic books! Not just Justice League #6 but also Ralph Wiggum and Mrs. Peel & Steed #2 (Marvel owns The Avengers as a publication name in the US). Failure: we had Austin’s Pizza for dinner Thursday (always great), overate and went into a carb coma by 8 PM. Now I need to shake off the kummerspeck (scroll down to #8) through the weekend. Additional failure: I still have a splitting headache which recedes as the day draws closer to quitting time.
What else? This month’s header. I didn’t want to go with the easy St. Patrick’s green stuff, besides, the Green Arrow & Green Lantern picture I remembered from the 1978 DC calendar didn’t fit well. So I went with a nice photo of Marc Maron. Why? He is coming to Austin for the SXSW Interactive section to record an episode of his podcast and the guest will be Jeffrey Tambor! I have tentative plans to see this. I enjoyed his most recent album This Better Be Funny and have been catching up on his podcasts. The latter activity is a bit formidable, Maron releases a show every Monday and Thursday and they run over an hour each.
