Rumor has it that forward Cody Eakin, this season’s breakout offensive player on my team will be headed to Dallas thanks to the lockout being officially over (the players ratified the CBA this afternoon as per nhl.com). Last night he scored the second coolest empty-net goal I’ve ever seen on TV or live. Glad to see he’s leaving Austin on a humorous, enjoyable and awesome note.
Somara luckily caught it on my new iPod Touch without any of the spectators in front obscuring the action.
They actually wouldn’t have called interference. It would have been an awarded goal! Had there been a goalie on the ice, it would have been a penalty shot, but if not, they just call it a goal anyway.
