I know there’s been beaucoup news regarding Princess and her ilk (they all go to AHS today, we can’t afford to handle Princess as much as I love her) so I want to let you know our three “children” are not neglected. With some matters being caught up, we finally got all their annuals in at White Rock’s brand new location up the street. We’re still awaiting the official grand opening with a tour.
Nemo is good. I had to hold back the laughter when the receptionist called him “Sweet Nemo.” She’d change her tune the first time he whizzes on her floor out of spite over something petty.
Kuroneko is fine too. A tad overweight. We were already trying to address this.
Miette was diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid. It would explain why she weighs a mere 6 1/2 pounds and pukes several times a day. Oddly, the little bugger is always hungry. The vet said Miette’s condition happens more often when cats turn eight (48 for humans) plus it’s a mysterious trend which originated around the Eighties. The good news, it is treatable via medicine. The bad news, getting a pill down her twice a day for three weeks. I need to look into some metal gauntlets. Should the medication fail, I’m looking at $1500 for radiation treatment. Would I spend this kind of money on Miette? Hell yes! I love this little critter ever since she wormed her way into my heart 12 years ago at the Salado parking lot. I just worry if the rays will give her Hulk powers. Nemo is very skilled at pissing her off so I could see the Bill Bixby eyes pop up after the initial hissing. There would be a great conversation with the house insurance people. We’ll know if Miette is making progress in three weeks. It was heartbreaking to hear from the vet about some people saying, “I’m not going to spend that kind of money on my cat!”
