For those who don’t live around Austin and/or don’t listen to the NPR affiliate(s), John Aielli is the morning guy. He’s the opposite end of most blowhard shows like Howard Stern, Steve Dahl and Austin’s own yawners, Dudley & Bob. John is very soft-spoken, almost to the point you will fall asleep.
He used to follow all the news shows on KUT and I figure he’s moved over to the exclusively music-based KUTX.
Some days John plays interesting music. He’s responsible for introducing me to Franz Ferdinand and Jamie Cullum before my usual sources. Other days, he can be a bore. However, if I were forced between John and the horrendous slew of zoos, duos and just generally obnoxious crap polluting the airwaves…I’ll take John. I may not always agree with what he wants to talk about yet he’s not adding to the pointless blather everybody else follows.
I’m guessing this bumper sticker leans in John’s favor versus the anti-NPR factions who’ve moved to or always been in Austin, namely PaulTards.
