Sure, sure, sure, all you people living up north had your fun at our expense over our overreaction to the freezing rain that proved to be negligible. However, AISD taking the lead to go with a delayed opening of noon was the wiser move given what happened last year; they went with a delayed opening of 10 AM only to cancel school altogether well after many people reported for work. I was in a similar boat then but the difference, the conditions were crummy.
As embarrassed as I was yesterday morning for sleeping in, we didn’t have to be at work until noon, I was still stoked at all signs of the previous evenings freezing rain had evaporated by 10 AM.
If the forecasts hold up, it seems Spring in Austin will be under way! Now we’ll see who has the “last laugh” when those friends are still shoveling around Easter weekend.
