Fantasy Flight Games’ customer service is excellent!

One Saturday, my friend Matt and I were going to play X-Wing but this time, I would have to field a “big” ship, namely the Rebel Transport you may recognize from The Empire Strikes Back. “Big” ships are really the low-end capital vessels in the game which move like slugs when fighters, bombers, escorts and small freighters are involved. To add insult to injury, the Rebel Transport is unarmed! What good is it? Well, it can provide support for the Rebel fighters through electronic warfare against Imperial TIE fighters and/or coordinate the Rebel pilots against the enemy.

There was a problem though. I lost the ship template which goes under the mini. It has the stats, firing arc (for the EW) and acts as the short-hand for when you move the ship in the game. So I went to FFG’s web site, found the customer service link and then requested a replacement with its price. It took about a week to receive a response by correspondence. This didn’t bother me, they probably receive a slug of requests over the rules, spam and/or cranks. What blew my mind was they sent me the whole pack of cardboard stuff for free! Not just the ship template, the whole pack which contains shield tokens, cards with stats on various transports (they have individual names), etc. Nice! Good thing I bought a second transport ahead of time. My original plan was to just wing it with two via one set of stats to copy.

Thanks FFG! Can’t wait for their upcoming Ghost and Phantom from Star Wars: Rebels to arrive at Rogues Gallery! Meanwhile, now I need to protect two transports from Matthew’s rapacious Imperial raiders as Rebel forces try to evacuate whatever planet.
