Alright September!

This month it’s the show which helped launch the short-lived UPN (Paramount Nnetwork I know a lot of people like to dump on Star Trek Voyager but it was a difficult premise to maintain, namely over how do you replace lost crew members. Then there’s the psychos who hate to see a woman in the captain’s chair on a weekly basis. I think Kathryn Mulgrew did an excellent job given what she had to work with. I wish they didn’t tell her to speak like Katherine Hepburn…ahead warp two Mr. Paris you old poop!

I can’t decide if Voyager was my 2nd fave, or 3rd fave–behind DS9. The fact that I’ve seen every episode of Voyager and missed a lot of DS9 may be telling. TOS is still my fave (because I’m old like that), and Next Gen kept me entertained. Never got into the cartoons, mainly because they weren’t prime time when we were still stuck with network TV. And purposely avoided Enterprise–because if your stated purpose is to ignore canon, then you aren’t really Star Trek. Call yourself something else, and maybe I’ll watch. I did find the last episodes of Voyager anticlimactic, like they rushed things. But despite that, it remains high on my list: I’d rank it a 7 of 9. 😉
