Miike Snow

Last June, Somara and I with Mark M went to see Miike Snow live since we all dig their funky, electronic sound, especially their hit “Genghis Khan.” We didn’t get any good pictures so I have the Getty Image there and photographer is credited.

The band is pretty impressive because all three of them can play different instruments as needed, except for the drums, this they left to a dedicated drummer who tours with them.

Above you can see the set list. A good mix of material from all three of their albums. My only disappointment was them not performing “The Wave,” which has some personal meaning to me. Still, this 80-minute show at Stubb’s beats a tiny appearance at a festival.

Opening for them was a pretty cool Dutch band whose name escapes me, I’ll leave that for Mark to resolve.

Unless you’re a brave concert goer like me, I would just recommend being their albums or the songs listed in the picture plus “The Wave.” Miike Snow attracts a younger crowd, one with its frickin’ phones going all the time, recording the concert instead of being in the moment.
