RIP: Dr. Murray Gell-Mann

Dr. Murray Gell-Mann may not be as famous as Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein or Marie Curie but he was instrumental in furthering our understanding of what the building-blocks of the universe, reality…everything. In 1964 he named these “things” quarks which he co-discovered coincidentally with George Zweig (it’s not uncommon for two or more brilliant people to invent/discover something around the same time). What quarks are? I’m not sure but I think they’re smaller than atoms and those hadron colliders are trying to find physical proof of them. Hopefully, someone with a stronger, legitimate Physics background can answer versus another friend just posting Wikipedia.
