In the pretty X-Wing miniatures game, the neutral Scum & Villainy faction fly fighters similar to what the Rebellion has, namely Y-Wings and Z-95 Headhunters but they get different paint jobs. With the first edition of the game, the set only came with one Y-Wing with red highlights. The second edition revamped them with two Y-Wings with this bitchin’ black and very visible astromech droid. The third vessel is a small freighter smugglers or couriers utilize. How I want to make a bomber squadron of these dudes and call them something really killer other than Black Squadron. Black Squadron is Darth Vader’s personal squadron of TIE fighters who are often treated as disposable by the flippant Sith Lord. No fear, these special Y-Wings will be employed by the Rebellion even though I won’t get to employ a Scum advantage called Unhinged Astromech, it lets the pilot do a 90° turn without stress. Sadly, the first Star Wars movie did establish my well-loved fighter-bomber isn’t an agile vessel. I’m figuring it’s more akin to America’s contemporary A-10 Warthog.
