Another toy tribute to a Caffe employee

Originally I wanted to make a Playmobil figure of Carlo as I’ve done for two other people at the Caffe who are very nice. The problem is that this chef wear a black outfit, not white. Besides being super difficult to hunt down, the only black torsos Playmobil makes at this time are female. I don’t have the patience to sand it down, repaint, etc. I went the LEGO® route while just combing through the numerous minifigs at Creative Brick Builder, mainly looking for droids to flesh out my universe. When I spotted the Bith musicians from the cantina, my brain made the connection, their torsos have the black outfit which is close match! How I love our minds can repurpose things via imagination and will.

The rest was pretty easy. I’ve seen him around for a couple years I knew which head would work best and then I had to sift through the limited hairstyles offered. Then a trip to the LEGO Store at Barton Creek for the accessories. A Friends set called Olivia’s Cupcake Café provided the whisk, mixer, saucepan and sink to cinch it all together. Carlo oversees the Italian stations, where they often make fresh pasta!

Needless to say, Carlo and the gang loved it! If you work with me at my site, you can now see this on display at the pasta station. For the rest of you all, I hope you like it.
