Futurama find at the thrift store!
A co-worker discovered this lost treasure from 2000 at a Goodwill. Only $3 a pair so with tax, not bad to get the whole gang for $15 add them to my theater and other jokes!
Now you can recreate the adventure kids!
What better way to remember one’s failed vacation to Madrid! There you were dreaming of enjoying authentic tapas and looking up the landmarks from your Spanish textbooks, all ruined thanks to that Hershey-squiring clod.
That is one interpretation of “Mambo Number Five”
The hit you couldn’t escape about 24 years ago…was secretly a song about cannibalism!
By the Power of Propane!
I tell ya whut! Castle Greyskull is completely powered and heated by clean burnin’, energy efficient Propane. It is abundant in Arternia too. Now if you excuse me, I need to get back to defeatin’ my mortal enemy…no not Skeletor, … Continue reading

HasLab/Hasbro will go forward with The Ghost!
They did it! In anticipation for Ahsoka which included the return of three characters from Rebels, Hasbro issued this kickstarter-like offer at San Diego, I think. The 11-year-old me exploded with glee! It’s the perfect companion to go with the … Continue reading
1970s: New from Flesher Price!
I still probably would’ve preferred having the Star Wars version of this toy from Kenner because it was a loop of the battle involving the Falcon trying to escape from four TIEs. But given how low brow the Seventies could be, this … Continue reading
Crazy Cat Lady starter set from Playmobil!
Odd, it only comes with four cats?
What I would’ve given/done for this in 1975
I know it’s mostly just cardboard but damn it’s so cool! The elevator alone would be enough to make me beg my parents for a week. As much as I love all the cool Star Wars vehicles made possible by … Continue reading
I’m a Star Trek toy finally!
Introducing Lt. Commander Maggi. Chief Astronomy Officer and vice-Counselor on the Enterprise! Thanks to Playmobil producing a four-pack of the Star Trek characters, I was able to take its McCoy and modify it with another figure to make…me! As my hair grays, I … Continue reading
Shhh…nobody tell the snails!
Given LEGO’s newfound popularity, I hope these snails have saved up since they’ll be paying Austin real estate rates…if they’re lucky.
Nerf® gets in on ST:NG‘s 35th anniversary!
I stumbled upon these during Hasbro’s online convention going on about the Selfie Action figures. My original reaction was, oh yeah, Hasbro bought the Nerf people years ago. OK, I have no recollection when they did since all the major … Continue reading
Hasbro Selfie Series now live!
It’s finally here! I thought I blathered on about it on my site in the past. It’s a lot harder to dig through the archives because Jeremy had to disable the widget allowing it on the home page or just … Continue reading
A little post-GACC nostalgia with Xmas ’79
Before I head out to Austin’s 15th Classic Game Fest, I thought I would keep up some good feelings (or vibes, which is getting as overused as Kate Bush’s 1985 hit). When I was at the Greater Austin Comic (Book) … Continue reading
Playmobil finally made an Austinite!
Finally! Playmobil made the most accurate and representative toy of what I often seen whenever I go to downtown Austin (usually Sixth Street area, Rainey Street are or South Congress Avenue). I imagine you could say this guy also fits … Continue reading
AS I WISH Part One
It is the 35th Anniversary of The Princess Bride and the MacFarlane toy company made these awesome action figures. Each has 22 points of articulation but sadly, they’re both right-handed so you can’t do the duel accurately. Well, maybe I could … Continue reading
