A more philosophical die
What a cool way to come up with a die that has 14 sides! Half are composed of the seven sins and the other are the seven virtues. The sins did get the better font.

Randomizers from Teacher Heaven
Dice maker Koplow has been holding out with the gaming stores! I found these beauties at a teacher-supply store in North Austin called Teacher Heaven. I was there hunting down stickers of apples and I saw the joint had a … Continue reading

RIP Allan Calhamer
I probably should re-organize D&D into a Game section with D&D and Video Games as subsections but my tribute to Mr. Calhamer falls under this because his game Diplomacy was a fave with gamers of all stripes. Sadly, I’ve only played … Continue reading

“Go First” dice for the OCD players
The math that went into creating these dice is impressive and I think these could resolve arguments over the initiative phase of D&D. When it comes to people who just casually play board games, I feel courtesy trumps precision. Maybe … Continue reading

Tired, inside geek joke
Our D&D/Gaming friend John immediately came to mind when this design came up on TeeFury. I also gave one to my sensei Lester as a Christmas present. The joke has many geeky levels, no pun intended. Firstly there’s the worn-out … Continue reading

Dusting off my d20 and an editorial regarding the Undead
The technical term is icosahedron and it’s one of the perfect solids in the Ancient Greek mindset. I’m not sure if it was used for their model of the universe which hindered astronomers until Kepler figured out the solar system’s elliptical … Continue reading
1981: Belated or sad milestone, take your pick
I’m going to keep the above artwork/banner/header for my site a little longer because it is tied to this story I failed to complete on time; stupid health and weather. So why did I go with the old, rather cheesy-looking … Continue reading
Some bad ideas never die…
…they somehow get licensed out to new chumps. Over 20 years ago, Space 1889 was a money pit killing GDW according to my friend Steve Bryant. It was an interesting idea, a roleplaying game set in the Victorian Era using … Continue reading
